
Anna heard this on the garden path yesterday, before showing me it. It is a Summer Chafer - rather like a Cockchafer, but smaller, browner, hairier, no white "tooth-marks" on the abdominal sides, smaller antennae with small clubs on the end of each and finally - out later in the year...
Nice to see though - we can see them floating above the tops of the nearby Lime Trees...
