Saw our 'rec' Peregrine again at around 05:50am this morning. A wonderful view this time again, as it scared the crap out of all the local birdlife (which all leaped into the air making their alarm calls), before it circled over the rec and flew south, quite low over the house.
I assume this bird is roosting on a tower block in central Reading somewhere. I know one has been spotted sitting on the large building over the station recently.
There certainly is enough food around for it - plenty of Feral pigeons, Wood Pigeons (and 2 Stock Doves!), plenty of garden bird species, Moorhens on the rec and of course the Thames and many gravel pits nearby from which to hunt.
Great stuff. All from my back garden!
