NB. 05/06/07 <---spooky eh? Those kind chaps and chapesses at the WILD ABOUT BRITAIN INSECT FORUM have (at last!) managed to identify this wee beastie.
Its a CHRYSOLEMID LEAF BEETLE, name of GASTROPHYSA POLYGONI. A Leaf Beetle that can be locally common, and dwells on weeds , often Bindweed (Polygonum - from where it gains its name), and yes, our example was a pregnant female.
