PEREGRINE FODDER

After our female sparrowhawk rushed through the garden again chasing a blackbird yesterday, without stopping (AGAIN!), and as we are hoping to have a little walk on the Ridgeway tomorrow morning, to see if there are any Short-Eared Owls about, I thought I'd take the camera into town to see if the Peregrines were about this morning...

No Peregrine.

Just Peregrine fodder.

Yes, we have plenty of peregrine fodder .... however, in our garden we call it sparrowhawk fodder... Good luck looking for the short-eared owls (are they usually out during the day? and are they easy to see? I've never seen one)

They are often out during the day UE! I hadn't seen one until last year, but we saw one on the Ridgeway last year, and I hear there are up to a DOZEN there this winter. I hope a Red Kite flushes them, and we can see them - even if we get no photo's, it would be worth it anyway...!
