Our final instar Green Shielbug nymph posted about ten days ago has become an adult.
I found it on one of our drain pipes outside the kitchen this afternoon. It will over winter like this, in adult form, before breeding in the spring.
NB. 29/10/07 I have found out (since posting this), that these overwintering adult Green Shieldbugs often change colour as they sit out the colder months. Some turn bronze, some turn red, some turn tan, some turn a darker green and some stay a quite light green.
It all seems very individual.
